Product Reviews Setup
The Product Reviews setup is divided into 4 steps.
- Customize and add a Product Review Widget to your site
- Setup Product Review Request Email
- Setup Product Review Request Email Reminders
- Thank you email setup + optional coupon (optional)
1. CUSTOMIZE AND ADD A PRODUCT REVIEW WIDGET TO YOUR SITE
How does the Product Reviews Widget work?
Product Reviews Widget is a three-part widget:
- Product Page Stars widget - is installed on the PRODUCT PAGE and showcases the average rating and number of reviews your product has. It has an optional "Write a review" button.
- Category Page Stars widget - is installed on the PRODUCT CATEGORY PAGE and showcases the average rating and number of reviews your product has.
- Pop-up Window widget - works only with the Product Page Stars widget (it doesn't work with Category Page Stars widget). When a visitor clicks on the Product Page Stars, it automatically opens to showcase your product reviews, and it does not require a separate code installation.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you install the Product Reviews widget on your site, any customization changes you make after that will automatically be updated on your website.
CUSTOMIZATION AND INSTALLATION STEPS
- Go to Product Review Widget page
- Customize colours, text and other options you wish to have
- Save settings
- Scroll down a little and copy the code of the widget you wish to install and install it on your website as per the following instructions (your programmer should do this):
- Product Page Stars Widget - Copy and paste this code inside the <body> of the product where you want this widget to appear
- Category Page Stars Widget - Copy and paste this code inside the <body> under every product on your category page where you want this widget to appear
5. Verify code installation - Enter the URL where you have installed the Kundello code and click on the "Verify Code Installation" button.
PLEASE NOTE: Pop-up Window widget does not require code installation. It works automatically once the Product Page Stars widget is instaled.
2. SETUP PRODUCT REVIEW REQUEST EMAIL
Kundello has a default review request email for Product Reviews, which does not require any setup or customization.
However, if you wish to customize the Product Review Request Email, that's easy, and here is what you need to do:
1. Go to Product Reviews - Review Request Email page
2. Change Email text
3. Save settings
4. Send a test email to yourself to ensure that the email is how you want it to be
NOTE: Header colour and your logo will be automatically imported from the Business Review Request Email Setup page. If you have not set it up yet, please go to Business Reviews - Review Request Email page and do it now.
3. SETUP PRODUCT REVIEW REQUEST EMAIL REMINDERS
Product Review reminders are switched OFF by default. Kundello has default emails that are ready to be sent, however, you can customize these emails as well.
If you wish to send Review Reminder this is what you need to do:
1. Go to Product Reviews - Reminder Settings page
2. Untick the "Don't send reminders" box
3. Select how many reminders you would like to send
4. Select the reminder timeframe for each reminder.
5. Save settings
If you wish to customize Review Reminder emails this is what you need to do:
1. For Reminder 1 go to the Product Reviews - Reminder 1 page
2. For Reminder 2 go to the Product Reviews - Reminder 2 page
3. Change email text
4. Save settings
5. Send a test email to yourself to ensure that the email is how you want it to be
NOTE: Header colour and your logo will be automatically imported from the Business Review Request Email Setup page. If you have not set it up yet, please go to Business Reviews - Review Request Email page and do it now.
4. THANK YOU EMAIL + COUPON SETUP
Like all the above emails, Kundello has a default "Thank You" email for when your customers leave a review.
This email is automatically sent for both Business Reviews and Product Reviews. Also, the default email is sent without a coupon code.
NOTE: If you have already customized "Thank You Email" while you were setting up BUSINESS REVIEWS, you don't have to do anything else. The same email will be sent for both BUSINESS and PRODUCT Reviews.
To customize Thank You email, here is what you need to do:
To change email text:
1. Go to Thank You Email + Coupon (for Reviews) page
2. Change Email text
3. Save settings
4. Send a test email to yourself to ensure that the email is how you want it to be
To add Coupon Code to email:
1. Scroll down to Coupon Settings
2. Select YES at Send Coupon option
3. Enter Coupon Discount and select discount type - % or $
4. Enter Coupon Code - at this stage we only support single coupon codes (dynamic codes are planned)
5. Enter Coupon Description / Terms of Use
6. Save settings
7. Send a test email to yourself to ensure that the email is how you want it to be
